Democratic Senator Barack Obama has been elected the first black president of the United States, according to projected results.

There were scenes of delight at a park in Chicago where tens of thousands of Obama supporters had gathered.

Mr Obama is expected to address the crowd soon.

His rival John McCain accepted defeat, saying "I deeply admire and commend" Mr Obama. He called on his supporters to lend the next president their goodwill.

Mr Obama captured the key battleground states of Pennsylvania and Ohio, before passing the essential figure of 270 electoral college votes at 0400 GMT, when projections showed he had also taken California and a slew of other states.

How long will he live? How safe Iraq can be after this? How booming can the world economy be? Change will surely happen, but how much good will it be to us, the Muslims and Malaysia in particular? We'll wait and see... And let's just pray for the best..

  1. Neraca keadilan, hopefully Obama will bring changes even though we know that all the policies of the United States are determined by the Senate, and hoepfully the Americans will pull out from Iraq and stop being the Police of the world.

  2. i have the same hope...but need to remember the promise he made during his campaign that even though he will pull the troops out of IRAQ, the effort of fighting terrorist will continue and will never stop...and world know, terrorist to US' definition is MUSLIM.

Somehow, his campaign was said to be fully funded by the Jews...Wonder what kind of kindness can we get from the Jewish
