Time to change

Tan Sri Muhyiddin was reported as saying UMNO needs to regain 'wow' factor which used to make public sit up, take notice and want to be part of the party in Manama yesterday. UMNO has just lost again for the second time in the by-election in Kuala Terengganu, after the failed bid in Permatang Pauh last year.

Well, there are many things that UMNO must do in order to be relevant again. First and foremost, the attitude of UMNO members have to change. Nowadays, people tend to think that by joining UMNO, he or she cold easily be rich. That notion is destroying the image of UMNO which in the past really help the Malays to eradicate poverty. The new generation nowadays are not into looking back at history. Therefore effort have to be made in order for them to be lured into the party. Politic is basically about perception.

So, the second thing that UMNO must do is for the party to have new leadership who have not anything in the closet that would make the public despise it. Perception is that KJ has gained billions of dollars by getting projects under the Ministry of Finance. Even though maybe this is just rumour, people tend to believe in rumours. Ask anybody on the street and out of 10, 9 would say that they hated KJ. UMNO is meant for all Malays and not the elitist. No wonder Datuk Wan Farid loses in Kuala Terengganu. His image and his attitude really showed that people do not want leaders who are arrogant. I saw his interview the morning of the election. He said that this would be his first election as a candidate before the next general election. How confident he was that he would eventually be retaining the seat in the next general election.

Thirdly, UMNO members should not be pampered with monetary reward in whatever activities they do. Once, I had the chance to chat with an UMNO veteran. He said that the opposition party workers work really hard during the last general election without hoping to be paid. UMNO members would definitely shy away from doing any job unless they are paid. He even said that the morale of the opposiion party workers were like the spirit of UMNO members in the 60s and 70s.

I could go on with many more factors but the main thing here is that UMNO must change. Time will tell whether UMNO is still relevant or a part of history in the future.

  1. Nak buat macam mana...

Musuh BN bijak merencanakan agenda memburukkan BN

  2. BN tidak bersifat kontemporari...dalam kempen2 mereka tahu nak mengungkit jer kerjanya...bukan nak address current issues yang berlaku dalam masyarakat...bingkai...balik2 citer apa yg kerajaan DAH buat...itu tak payah citer org da tahu...lain la kalau kita ni hidup di negara yg duna kod Morse...bangang betul la pemimpin2 ni...pastu dah kalah mula la rajin nak menganalisa...sebelum pilihanraya bukan nak buat analisa...bingkai tak habis2....gantung kat dinding pun belum tentu org tengok...

huh...letih la aku dgn pemimpin2 BN ni...

  4. Enough NATO! No Action Talk Only. Let see some action

How UMNO/BN would possibly dream to win in KT? UMNO people who went there were more interested to work out the result for UMNO election in March not for the election they had in KT.

UMNO once had undeniably introduced an effective system of voters headcount for gen election but they failed to practice it. Apparently PAS had learn the system and practiced them effectively.UMNO at the other hand failed to practice it and check its effectiveness because heads of election machinery at all levels were so busy to be seen in functions attended by the Ministers or UMNO top brass leaders rather than doing their job. Hence they forgot their duties & responsibilities.

Just imagine UMNO knew for a fact before the election that if the voters turn out on the election day be around 89%,UMNO would win by a slim majority because they had pre charted the voters inclination using the system as aforementioned.A slim majority is still a win!but during the D Day they failed to bring the voters out according to the plan. the voters turn out on the D Day was 79%. UMNO lost by 2500 plus votes! Now whose mistakes that was? Voters or UMNO machineries? Or the Ministers who came there and kept expecting a lot of people to greet them. Or was it the mistakes of the UMNO top brass leaders?

So when UMNO talks about change, it needs actual actions not just only talks and theories !

TIME to CHANGE is the mindset of ALL Malays.

Open their eyes not just to see what you can see physically but what written and hidden behind all whats going on.

Sadly, majority of the Malays only THINK UMNO must change. We ourselves, all of us MUST CHANGE. It is not easy.

OR the Malays need something really DRASTIC and BAD to happen to their race and country before THEY ALL WAKE UP!!

    Only Allah swt know best.

    Its just doesn't make sense.
